Hello BCWB Basketball League Participants and Teams,
First, we want to thank you for your participation in our “Safety Controlled” Youth Outdoor Basketball League. We will be following CDC and local City/State guidelines for the Safe Re-Open of Youth Sports.
To accomplish meeting the CDC and local City/State guidelines, it will be very important you read carefully the following information and act accordingly as it related to you, your player, team and family.
All players (parents) are required to submit to the League Director, a Player/Family Consent to play participation form. Each Parent/Guardian must read and sign this document, have player sign and return to us immediately after receipt of the document. You can take a picture of the document with your phone and send back to us as an email attachment.
Very important- Most important – When attending the BCWB Outdoor League Games, everyone must wear a “Face covering / Mask” while at the court/game/park. Players do not have to wear a “Face covering/Mask while playing the game. Coach is asked to wear a “Face covering/Mask” while Coaching the game/at the bench (but this is optional). Families attending the games are asked to “Socially Distance” (at least 6 feet) from other families – persons watching the game. We strongly encourage persons attending games to wear a “Face Covering/Mask” at all times – however, this is optional and at your own risk.
The BCWB “Safety Controlled” Youth Outdoor Basketball League
will have a representative at the entry point of the basketball court to take
temperature checks for players, wash / sanitize hands and direct team/player
and coach, officials and score/clock table attendant where to go when they
enter the court (“their Bubble”). Only
team/player and coach, officials and score/clock table attendant are allowed on
the basketball court/area.
Team/player and coach, officials and score/clock table attendant and Game will operate in a “Bubble” format.
Once the team/player and coach, officials and score/clock table attendant arrive on the court, they will be directed to their designated area (this will be called your “Bubble”). There will be a bubble for the Team, Officials, Score/table attendant and game being played on the court.
Each team/player and coach, officials and score/clock table attendant can not leave their “Bubble” once they have entered the court. Players and officials are only allowed to leave their “Bubble” to start the game, play the game on the court and substitute in and out the game during the game being played. When the game starts, the act of playing the game will be called the “Game Bubble”.
It is very important everyone understands the rules and how to proceed when arriving to the game, entering the court, playing the game and at the end of the game. At the end of the game, everyone returns to their “Bubble” and leaves the court/park moving in separate directions not to interact with anyone but their parents/family.
In short – here is an example of the format:
When team/player and coach, officials and score/clock table attendant arrive on the court:
· Team – each player will be temperature checked, hand sanitized and report to your Team bench (“Bubble”)
· Officials – officials will be temperature checked, hand sanitized and report to your officials table (“Bubble”)
· Score/clock attendant – will be temperature check, hand sanitize and report to your score table (“Bubble”)
· Game being played – each player must sanitize hands when entering in and out of the Game. (this is the “Game Bubble”)
Once everyone is in their “Bubble”, the officials will call the players out to play (start the game). There will not be a “Jump Ball” – Guest team will take the ball out at the beginning of the game and Home team will take the ball out at the start of the second half. Players will enter in and out of the game (substitutions) by standing in a designated area at side court. The Officials will call the player into the game when they see the player standing in the designated area. When players enter in and out of the game and after timeouts, they must re-sanitize their hands.
